![]() ![]() If I firmly hold the rubber with one hand and turn the pen with the other hand, the pen moves independently from the rubber (when I apply enough force). Or to put it another way, I have pen that has a rubber grip. I get that tires are "sticky" in their contact to the road, so what keeps the tire from continuing to rotate while the wheels stay fixed in place? I would expect the car to slide like it's on ice. Let's also say my brakes are good and completely stop my wheels from spinning (the wheels lock up). Let's say I'm driving down the road at 50 mph and I forcefully press on the brake pedal.
